Adobe Launched Lightroom 5 with Advanced Healing and Correcting Tools
US-based developer Adobe launched their newest iteration of the favorite photo editor, the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5, with improved healing brush and an array of correcting tools.
Aside from Advanced Healing Brush, the new Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 is introducing innovative must-have features which include Upright, Radial Gradient, Smart Previews and Video Slideshow.
Lightroom 5 boosts its photo editing options with Advanced Healing Brush which seamlessly erases flaws and just about any object in the picture with just a sweep of a resizable brush. The better amp to this element is its customizability to zero in on the shape of the image which in the previous LR versions is limited to circular selection only. The healing brush makes use of matched-spot estimation, similarly treated in Photoshop, but with the ability to form irregular shapes (think webs and smudges).
Another smart editing tool is the Upright which adjusts a tilted image with just one click. It is great for architectural and background pictures which can only be taken from a limited angle. Upright can even cleverly adjust a photo with a hidden horizontal lining.
The Radial Gradient/Filter gives a soft vignette lighting effect in an elliptical or circular selection. It neatly reduces or enhances the lights surrounding the target object even at the off-center. This effortlessly balances multiple high contrasting objects in an image.
Smart Previews organizes photos and enables sharing almost anywhere. This also showcases fluid photo preview. Recently, the preview size was upgraded to 2560 pixels on the long edge making crisp photos for snap browsing.
The new Video Slideshow incorporates different assets—still shots, video clips and music— in the Collection.
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 runs on Windows 7 and 8 and Mac OS. The add-ins in LR5.2 will be available for LR5 customers for free. LR5 is available in Adobe Creative Cloud.
The Lightroom team launched the first application seven years ago with the aim of addressing the essential workflow solution in digital photography for professional and amateur photographers alike. With the help of customer feedback, the team is continuously developing Lightroom software while maintaining quality and usability.
